In this video we check out the 2021 Trek Marlin 5. The Trek Marlin 5 sits at a great spot as a nice starting place to get into mountain biking, but also a way to get a super rugged commuter or hybrid bike. It has the wide gear range to handle all sorts of riding as well as rack mounts and a place for a kickstand. To help the bike have the largest wheel size that fits, Trek uses something they call "Smart Wheel Size" where the XS & S bikes come in 27.5'/650b and the Medium and larger bikes are 29" wheels. This combined with the 21 speed Shimano 3x7 drivetrain makes for a good dual-use bike. It also has a 100mm suspension fork and double-walled Bontrager Connection wheels so when the bike is off-road it will be a great starting place to have fun!
